Veterans Home Care

Avodah Home Care is built on the foundations of servant leadership. The word “Avodah” means work, worship, and service. These are all the qualities and characteristics that exist within our caregivers. They strive to provide consistent care that ensures improvement for your loved one’s quality of life. Every action we take is to serve your family and The Most High God, Yahawah. Our professional caregivers are here to provide the people you hold most dear with the love and support they need to keep on living, not just existing. We understand that you don’t want your loved ones to be stuck at home alone while you take care of the other responsibilities you have in your life, but these other obligations are also priorities you can’t simply ignore. Allow us to step in and be the helping hand you need to make sure your loved ones are well taken care of while also continuing to live your life as well.

At Avodah Home Care, we are proud to be a part of the VA Community Care Network, offering our specialized services to veterans in South Carolina. Our commitment is to provide quality care to seniors, including veterans, in their own homes, ensuring they live with dignity and comfort.

The VA Community Care Network: A Brief Overview

The VA Community Care Network is an initiative by the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide veterans with quality health care services outside of VA facilities. This network allows veterans to receive care from local community providers when VA facilities are not readily accessible or cannot provide the required care. It covers a range of services, including long-term care, which is crucial for many veterans.

Our Specialized Services

Our range of services includes:

  • Mental (Cognitive) Stimulation: We provide activities and interactions that help maintain and improve cognitive functions.
  • On-Call Transportation Services: Enhancing mobility for veterans, making it easier for them to attend appointments and engage in community activities.
  • Constant Socialization: Ensuring veterans are not isolated, which is vital for their mental health and well-being.
  • Physical and Mental Health Improvement: Through various activities and personalized care plans.
  • Careful Safety Supervision: To ensure a safe living environment for veterans at home.

Avodah Home Care offers an exceptional combination of home care and community-based social services. Our goal is to help your loved ones to continue to live safely and confidently in a familiar place they call home.

VA Aid and Attendance Pension Benefit

Understanding the VA Aid and Attendance Pension Benefit

The VA Aid and Attendance (A&A) Pension Benefit is a significant program offered by the Department of Veterans Affairs. It provides additional monetary assistance to qualified veterans and survivors who require aid with daily activities or are housebound. This benefit is crucial for those who need help with personal care functions due to various health conditions.

Eligibility for the A&A Benefit

To be eligible for the A&A benefit, veterans or survivors must be receiving a VA pension and meet certain conditions. These include requiring assistance with activities like bathing, dressing, and feeding, being bedridden due to illness, being a patient in a nursing home due to mental or physical incapacity, or having severely limited eyesight. For the Housebound benefit, the individual must spend most of their time in their home due to a permanent disability.

Applying for the Benefit

The application process involves submitting a completed VA Form 21-2680 to the pension management center. Applicants can also provide additional evidence, such as a doctor’s report, to support their claim. For those in nursing homes, a Request for Nursing Home Information (VA Form 21-0779) is also required.
